- Solar with Grid Tied Batteries
A grid tied battery allows you to avoid receiving energy from the utility company. During the daylight hours, the electricity being used by the house is immediately provided by the solar PV system, and the excess energy production is stored in the batteries.
When the sun sets, the electricity being used by the house comes from the batteries until the batteries no longer have stored electricity. Only when the batteries are depleted does the house rely on the utility company provided electricity.
This proposal does not include backup power functionality. If you would like to add backup power functionality, the cost for that feature is an additional $5,000 for the additional equipment and wiring required.

Solar Photo Voltaic (PV) system with batteries that provide backup power and grid tied battery functionality. A grid tied battery allows you to avoid receiving energy from the utility company.
During the daylight hours, the electricity being used by the house is immediately provided by the solar PV system, and the excess energy production is stored in the batteries. When the sun sets, the electricity being used by the house comes from the batteries until the batteries are depleted.
The batteries keep a reserve quantity so that if there is a power outage in the night, you will have enough stored electricity that prevents you losing power overnight.
The following day when the sun rises, even during a power outage, the batteries are recharged and will be ready to provide electricity for the following night.

If you already have Enphase micro inverters, we can install the Enphase Ensemble backup power system,
The main components in this backup power system is the Encharge 5 battery with 5 kilowatt hour of energy storage. Multilpe Encharge 5 units are installed to meet your storage requirements.
Additional backup power can be added to meet all of your emergency power needs if that grows in the future.
This system comes with a home energy management monitoring system to keep track of your emergency power usage, and which also displays your solar production in a single user interface.
The Enphase Ensemble battery we install comes with a 15-year warranty, the best battery warranty available form any battery manufacturer.
This is a state-of-the-art product that is superior to other backup power systems.
I have a solar system with a string or central inverter:
The main component in this backup power system in this proposal is the Tesla Powerwall 3 system that includes a string inverter in the Tesla Powerwall 3 battery unit. The Powerwall 3 comes with 13.5 kilowatt hours of energy storage. Additional backup power can be added to meet all of your emergency power needs by installing multiple Powerwall 3s.
Powerwall 3 is a fully integrated solar and battery system, designed to accelerate the transition to sustainable energy.
Customers can receive whole home backup, cost savings, and energy independence by producing and consuming their own energy while participating in grid services. Once installed, customers can manage their system using the Tesla App to customize system behavior to meet their energy goals.
Powerwall 3 achieves this by supporting up to 20 kW DC of solar and providing 11.5 kW A C of continuous power per unit. It has the ability to start heavy loads up to 185 A LRA, meaning a single unit can support the power needs of most homes.
- Add Solar generation to an existing Enphase micro inverter solar PV system
This option is for people who need to expand their existing solar system with more solar panels and Enphase micro inverters.
This would be required if your energy usage has changed because you have a need for more electricity.
Purchased an Electric Vehicle (EV):
You have purchased an EV and that you want to charge it at home and would rather use solar to create the electricity you need rather than buy it from the utility company at a high price per kilowatt hour.
Purchased a heat Pump:
You have purchased a Heat Pump cooling and heating system would rather use solar to create the electricity you need rather than buy it from the utility company at a high price per kilowatt hour to run the Heat Pump.
Purchased a Electric hot water heater:
You have purchased an electric hot water heater and would rather use solar to create the electricity you need rather than buy it from the utility company at a high price per kilowatt hour to run the electric hot water system.
- Replace a non-functioning inverter:
If you have a string inverter that is no longer working we have two options available to you.
- Convert your inverter system to Enphase micro inverters:
We would remove your string inverter and install micro inverters under each solar panel. This creates resiliency so that if an inverter or solar panel fails is would only affect the solar panel or inverter not working but the rest of the solar panels and inverters would continue create electricity, eliminating the single point of failure.
The Enphase micro inverter customer interface is available online and as an App and provides generation data at the solar panel level, daily, weekly monthly annual and lifetime production for each solar panel or for the entire system.
We can add the Ensemble battery backup system when we install the micro inverters or at any time in the future
- Convert your system to the Tesla Powerwall 3
When you convert your non functioning string inverter to the Tesla Powerwall 3 you would get your solar panels producing electricity again and you would get battery backup functionality at the same time.
The Tesla Powerwall 3 comes with a built in string inverter to replace your non-functioning inverter.
The Tesla Powerwall 3 comes with a system production monitoring and system controls to customize how the storage system operates.
